THE COLONY, Texas (June 27, 2023) – Tournament officials announced today tickets are now on sale at www.AscendantLPGA.com for the 2023 Ascendant LPGA benefiting Volunteers of  AmericaTexas’ signature LPGA Tour event taking place Oct. 2-8 at Golf Clubs at The Tribute and playing at Old American Golf Club. The all-new BITE by the Lake upgraded hospitality culinary experience headlines the ticket packages available for the annual LPGA Tour event.

The field will feature 132 of the world’s top professional golfers competing for a share of a $1.8  million purse, a $100,000 increase from the 2022 championship.

“For the past decade, the Ascendant LPGA benefiting Volunteers of America has introduced  VOA’s mission to an international audience, helping to support and expand our critical work serving women and many others in need,” said Mike King, Volunteers of America National President, and CEO. “Kathy Whitworth was a dear friend and tremendous supporter for not only  our great championship, but also of Volunteers of America and women’s golf in general. We  look forward to honoring her memory in a variety of ways leading up to tournament week.”

The 2023 Ascendant LPGA benefiting Volunteers of America will pay tribute to its longtime  tournament ambassador and golf’s winningest player, Kathy Whitworth, who passed away  suddenly in 2022, with a variety of programs and initiatives. Whitworth, a Dallas resident, was  instrumental in growing the game of golf for the younger generation with a mission providing  increased access to the game in communities that ordinarily would not be introduced to the sport.

The “Kathy Whitworth Ticket Program” will return to the #AscendantLPGA in 2023. The  program encourages local clubs, businesses, golf teams, organizations, and individuals to  continue serving Whitworth’s mission to spread access and awareness about the game of golf.  Accepted applicants will receive complimentary tickets to the tournament and #AscendantLPGA  promotional materials to help spread tournament awareness.
